YVONNE JOYCE POWELL

Yvonne Joyce Powell 82 of Harrison passed away at her home on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Yvonne was born January 16, 1938 in Woodland, Michigan the daughter of Clifford and Ada (Snyder) Rogers. Yvonne graduated in 1956, from Sunfield High School, Sunfield, Michigan. Yvonne was united in marriage to Mr. Wayne Kenneth Powell on June 9, 1956 in Sunfield, Michigan. Mr. Powell preceded Yvonne in death on July 29, 1999 after forty-three years of marriage.

                Mrs. Powell had resided in Harrison since December 7, 1983, moving from Sunfield. Yvonne was a longtime and faithful member of Harrison United Brethren Church. She was a Tax Preparer from 1971 until her retirement in 2008. Mrs. Powell enjoyed knitting, adult drawing and coloring books, reading books, socializing with her family and friends and playing Bingo.

                Surviving Yvonne are her four loving children; David Powell and wife Janice of Mulliken, Michigan, Cheryl Monteverde and husband Armando of Tucson, Arizona, Shelby Powell of Harrison and Kevin Powell and wife Beth of Fort Worth, Texas, fourteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one daughter in-law, Karen Powell of Charlotte, Michigan, two brothers; Duane Rogers of Havelock, North Carolina and Dale Rogers of Lake Odessa, Michigan, two sisters in-law; Jeannine Rogers of Sunfield and Marilyn Currier of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, two brothers in-law; Ralph Powell and wife Beverly of Harrison and Charles Powell and wife Sally of Manton, Michigan, plus many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Powell also was preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Steven Powell and Brent Powell, one granddaughter, Crystal Day and two brothers; Jim Rogers and Cecil Rogers.

                Graveside services honoring Mrs. Powell will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison with Pastor George Eagle officiating.
