Shirley “Jane” Jane Lipovsky

Shirley “Jane” Jane Lipovsky age 93 of Harrison passed away peacefully Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Gladwin Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center-Gladwin. Jane was born December 1, 1929, in Frost Township, Clare County, Michigan, the daughter of Leo and Laura (Woods) Gronda. Jane graduated from Hayes Agricultural School, Harrison in 1947. She was united in marriage to Mr. Gerald “Jerry” Leigh Lipovsky on June 17, 1947, in Harrison. Jerry preceded Jane in death on December 1, 2014, after sixty-six years of marriage.

Mrs. Lipovsky had resided in Harrison her entire life, other than spending winters in Florida for many years. Jane was employed with Amble School of Harrison for many years as Librarian as well as an owner-operator of her clothing and gift shop in Harrison. Jane volunteered with the Harrison Chamber of Commerce for several years as secretary as well as a past school board member with Harrison Community Schools. Jane was a member of Harrison O.E.S. Chapter 408 for many years. Jane enjoyed spending her time camping with family and close friends, wintering in Florida, where she and Jerry would rehab and sell many park model homes. Jane enjoyed arts and crafting, making her famous “beer can banjos”, dancing, playing card games and attending bingo games.

Surviving Mrs. Lipovsky are her two sons; Richard Lipovsky and wife Jill of Harrison and Dan Lipovsky and wife Carla also of Harrison, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, plus many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Jane also was preceded in death by her parents, one son, David Lipovsky, one daughter-in-law, Karen Lipovsky and one brother, John Gronda.

Celebration of Life services honoring Jane and Jerry will be held Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service, 165 West Oak Street, Harrison with Mr. Jamie Lipovsky officiating. Family and friends are encouraged to gather for a time of sharing on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Harrison.
