Sharon Christine Kirby age 79 of Harrison passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Sharon was born June 5, 1944, in Brownsville, Texas, the daughter of Leonard Andersen and Christine (Lundborgh) Andersen. Sharon graduated from Traverse City High School, Traverse City, Michigan in 1962. She furthered her education at Northwestern Michigan College, Traverse City. Sharon was united in marriage to Mr. Ronnie Jene Kirby on October 9, 1969, at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Mrs. Kirby had resided in Harrison since 2008, moving from Parchment, Michigan. Sharon was an active member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Harrison and was an active member and Loon Ranger with Springwood Lake Association, Harrison. Sharon was a self-employed artist, a passion and career she loved. She was an avid fan of the University of Michigan Football and collector of every piece of memorabilia. Sharon also enjoyed fishing, boat rides, reading, floral gardening, especially caring for her beloved Peony's. Cooking for her family and listening to John Denver songs were other favorites of Sharon’s.

Surviving Mrs. Kirby is her husband and best friend of fifty-three years, Mr. Ronnie Jene Kirby of Harrison, her loving daughter, Christina Allen and husband Troy of Kalamazoo, Michigan, two grandchildren; Ryan Fitzsimmons and wife Megan of Portage, Michigan and Sierra Christine Allen of Kalamazoo, three siblings; Beth Andersen of Traverse City, Mary Andersen of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Mark Andersen and wife Annette of Traverse City. Mrs. Kirby was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Services honoring Mrs. Kirby will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. from St. Luke Lutheran Church, 616 South 4th Street, Harrison with Pastor Timothy Sheridan officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial gifts in memory of Sharon may be considered to: St. Luke Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society of Michigan.
