Richard William Madary Sr., age 94 of Monroe, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

Born July 27, 1927 in Almont, MI. He was the son of the late Glenn and Mary (Gun) Madary. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1947. We was a World War II Veteran.

Richard made his living working as a semi driver for Central Transport Company for 30 years before retiring in 1995. In 2003, he met the love of his life: Nancy Roberts. They spent over 18 wonderful years together. They enjoyed spending quality time together and traveling to many places like Myrtle Beach.

Richard was a member of the VFW Post 9283 and the American Legion in Southgate. He was also a free mason. In his free time, he enjoyed going up north to his cabin and playing in a pool league. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones.

Beloved father of Carol Kelly, Richard Jr. (Brenda) Madary, Glenn Frederick (Debby) Madary, Paul Madary, Randy (Sue) Brewington, and Nicholas (Joni) Madary. Loving papa of 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Dearest companion of Nancy Roberts.

Richard was preceded in death by parents: Glenn and Mary Madary, and three siblings.

Everyone is invited to a visitation on Thursday, Novemeber 18, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home from 1:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be on Friday, November, 19, 2021 at Rupp Funeral Home starting at 11 am. Officiating is Rev. Larry Detruf. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow.
