Richard H. Hileman

Richard H. Hileman passed away peacefully on the 7th of January, at home in Lansing, he was 95.  Dick was born on the 26th of April 1928.  He was the son of William W. Hileman and Irene C. (Somers) Hileman in Harrison, (Mannsiding) Michigan.  After graduation from Harrison High School, he joined the Navy with his cousin John Dillon.  He was assigned to the USS Salerno Bay CVE-110 from 1948-1952.

June 13, 1953, Dick married Esther I. Eaton of Harrison.  They were married over 70 years.

Surviving Dick was his wife, Esther, sons Jim, Mike and wife Susan and his daughter Judy.  Seven grandchildren; Jay, Sarah, Michael, Kerrie, Katelin, Jacob and Jennifer. Great grandchildren; Jehu, Reegan, Adrian, Quinn and Marieanna.  A loving sister Claire and sister-in-law Lola, his many nieces and nephews who he loved and adored.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.  William and wife Marion, Marjorie and husband Bill Case and brother Herbert (Bud).

Dick and Esther with their family enjoyed over 40 years of watching the sunsets at Houghton Lake.  They also make wonderful memories in Ruskin Florida.

Celebration of life services will be held on Friday the 12th of April 2024, at the South Nazarene Church of Lansing.  Doors open at 10:00 am.  Luncheon will be served at noon.

A military service is planned for Saturday April 13 at Maple Grove Cemetery in Harrison.
