Paulette Camille Sharp age 99 of Harrison passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at The Brook of Houghton Lake. Paulette was born January 31, 1925, in Montceau-Les-Mines, France, the daughter of Ladislas Zurecki and Jeanne Virginie (Tissier) Zurecki. Paulette was united in marriage to Mr. Eugene Gilmore Sharp on February 23, 1946 in Noisy-Le-Grand, France. Mr. Sharp preceded Paulette in death on November 21, 1997 after fifty-one years of marriage. Mrs. Sharp had resided in Harrison since 1946, moving from France. Paulette was a long-time member of St. Luke Lutheran Church-Harrison and a life member of V.F.W. Post 1075 Auxiliary. Mrs. Sharp owned and operated Paulette's Restaurant of Harrison for many years and was a cashier at Northland IGA of Harrison for several years. Paulette enjoyed attending her church, vegetable and floral gardening, deer hunting as well as bird and nature watching.
Surviving Mrs. Sharp are her two children; Eugene P. "Skeet" Sharp and wife Julie of Harrison and Connie Cummings of Burton, Michigan, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, many in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family members. Paulette also was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Phyllis "Chris" Sheldon, two sons-in-law; John Sheldon and Robert Cummings, two sisters and three brothers.
Celebration of Life services honoring Paulette will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Luke Lutheran Church, 616 South Fourth Street, Harrison with Pastor Timothy Sheridan officiating. A time of gathering will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Hamilton Township Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Mrs. Sharp may be considered to: St. Luke Lutheran Church or Compassus Hospice. Envelopes are available at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and St. Luke Lutheran Church.
