Vickie Elaine Cooper

Vickie Elaine Cooper formerly of Clare and now Cheboygan passed away of a heart attack at Petosky on July 26, 2023, at almost 67 years of age. She was born on September 8, 1956, to parents Bruno C. Braun and Ruth (Coe) Braun.

Vickie loved elderly people and earned her living as a care giver to the elderly. Vickie enjoyed flowers, birds and writing letters and cards to people, which she had a special gift for card picking. Vickie also loved animals, especially her dog Raven. She had lovely porch gardens for others to enjoy. She enjoyed her friends, family and her time as a member of the Red Hat Group.

Vickie is survived by her son Dean Cooper, her only sibling Toni Paul and four nieces (Janell Jewett, Joleen Marshall, Jeanette Callender and Jeanne Paul (Tim Williams)) and her parents Bruno and Ruth Braun. She also has great nieces and nephews: Annie Baker, Makayla and Hannah Marshall and Kenneth, Gage and Emma Callender. Aunts Carol McNerney and Paula Coe and many cousins. Vickie was predeceased by former husband Carl Cooper, grandparents Bruno Sr. and Emma Braun and Ross and Berniece Coe, uncles Dan McNerney and Bill Coe, an infant niece Sierra Callender and several special cousins.

Services will be held at her home church, New Hope Fellowship Missionary Church on August 19, 2023, at noon, with Pastor Charlie Green officiating. Interment will take place at Cherry Grove Cemetery of Clare at a later date.
