Nancy Ann Miner

Nancy Ann Miner, 79, of Greenville, formerly Athens, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, surrounded by family. Nancy was born on November 16, 1944, to Paul and Alma (Jenkins) Erskine in Battle Creek. She graduated from Athens High School with the Class of 1962. Nancy married Ervin “Ken” Miner on July 14, 1962, in Galesburg.

She was a homemaker for 60 years, but also worked as an office manager, a head cook, and Nancy and Ken were also business owners, remodeling homes, where Nancy was the seamstress, taking care of the finer details. She retired in 2005. Nancy enjoyed shopping, decorating, travel, art shows, sewing, camping with the RV and was a master gardener. She was active as a Sunday school teacher and youth group leader, as well as being active in the children's and hospitality ministries through their local churches. When her children were young, Nancy worked with the after-school dance program and with the Climax PTA. She kept Ken in line as well as the rest of the family. She loved having fun with her sisters, sisters-in-laws, family, and many friends.

Nancy is survived by her husband Ervin “Ken”; her children Kelly (Todd) Marshall of Britton, MI and Ken (Amy) Miner of Cedar Springs, MI; her grandchildren, Erin (Geoffrey) Seroka of VA, Morgan (Tim) Smith of PA, Katy (Ben) Durfee of NY, Kristen (Rafael) Vasconcelos of PA, Les (Natalie) Miner of MI, and Kevin Miner of MI; her great-grandchildren, three boys and three girls; her siblings, Gary (Shirley) Erskine of Battle Creek and Sally (Larry) Wise of Battle Creek; her brother in-law Stanely Wise of Athens, and her many nieces and nephews. Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Jean Wise and Betty Lou Erskine.

A funeral service was held Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Lighthouse of Athens, 310 S. Capital Ave., Athens, MI 49011. Interment will follow at North Athens Cemetery.
