MILDRED “MILLIE” JEAN PATCH

                Mildred “Millie” Jean Patch 89 of Harrison was called to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Mildred was born December 10, 1931 in Bad Axe, Michigan the daughter of George L. Arnott and Lula Irene (Robarts) Arnott. Millie graduated from Cass City High School in Cass City Michigan in 1950. Mildred was united in marriage to Mr. William “Bill” M. Patch on October 17, 1953 in Cass City, Michigan.

                Mrs. Patch had resided in Harrison since 1961, moving from Cass City. Millie and Bill were co-owners and operators of Patch’s Supermarket of Harrison from 1961-1966. For several years, Millie stayed at home to raise her children until 1980, she then became employed with Ashcraft’s Markets of Harrison where she worked for thirteen years, retiring in 1993 as the bakery manager.

                Millie was the longest living and attending founding member of First Baptist Church, Harrison, for over sixty years. Millie was very active in the women’s fellowship of First Baptist Church as well as the youth ministry. She was an active member of Clare County Crazy Quilters for many years as she loved quilting. Mrs. Patch enjoyed gardening, raising and picking raspberries, canning her vegetables and fruits, and was very proud of her pristine and loved “Grandma’s Garden”. She also was an avid flower gardener and seamstress. Millie loved camping with her family, spending winters in Zephyr Hills, Florida with her husband Bill, bike riding and roller blading with her daughter, Cindy.

                Surviving Mrs. Patch are her five loving children: Connie Wozniak and husband Larry of Pass Christian, Mississippi, John W. Patch and wife Sue of Lake, Michigan, Cindy Cook and husband John of Harrison, Donald J. Patch and wife Sandy of Harrison and Cheryl Patch of Harrison, sixteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one brother, John “Jack” Arnott and wife Janet of Rose City, Michigan, many nieces, nephews, extended family members, her church family and friends. Millie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of sixty-four years, Mr. William “Bill” J. Patch and two brothers: George Arnott and William Arnott.

                Funeral services celebrating Mrs. Patch’s home going will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 3088 Mostetler Road, Harrison, Michigan 48625, with Pastor Ron Callen officiating. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 5:30-9:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, 165 W. Oak St., Harrison and Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at First Baptist Church. Millie will be laid to rest at Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison, immediately following her funeral service.
