                Melody Joy Bailey 62 of Harrison, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at her home. Melody was born May 7, 1959 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of George Milton Lason and Patricia Lou Owens. Melody graduated from Lake Fenton High School in 1977. Melody was united in marriage to Mr. Nelson Everett Bailey II on March 10, 1978 in Lake Fenton, Michigan. Mrs. Bailey had resided in Harrison since 1979, moving from Lake Fenton.

                Melody furthered her education by attending and graduating from Mid-Michigan Community College, Harrison with an Associate’s Degree in Health Science. Mrs. Bailey was a former employee with Family Fare, Glen’s Markets and Ashcrafts Markets of Harrison for over twenty-one years as a bakery and deli worker. Melody also spent many years working as a dietician and cook at Clare Nursing Home, Clare. When Melody was not working or raising her family, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafting, puzzle books, adult coloring books, cooking and baking for her family and friends, family camping and canoe trips and bird watching at her farm.

                Surviving Melody is her loving husband and best friend of forty-three years, Mr. Nelson E. Bailey II of Harrison, three children: Susan Miske and husband George of Harrison, Kathy Bailey also of Harrison and Nelson Everett Bailey III of Lake, Michigan, five grandchildren: Oryan Norton, Austin Marshall, Zander Miske, Alexis Miske and Andrew Bauger, one sister, Jenny Septer and husband Ken of Clarkston, Michigan, one brother, Donald Powell and wife Suzy of Troy, Michigan, three sisters in-law, four brothers in-law, plus many nieces, nephews, extended family members and her beloved fur baby, Tigger. Melody was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jeff Lason and her sister in-law, Cheryl Lason.

                Life Celebration services honoring Melody will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:00 pm from the Hamilton Township Hall, 3042 N Rodgers Ave., Harrison.  Memorial gifts in memory of Melody may be considered to: Bailey Family, in care of: Mr. Nelson E.
