Marian Ruth Cooley

                Marian Ruth Cooley 86 of Harrison went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 7, 2023. Marian was born November 24, 1936, in Clarkston, Michigan, the daughter of Erwin J. Teggerdine and Ruth Helen (Frick) Teggerdine. Marian was united in marriage to Mr. Robert I. Cooley on November 20, 1954, in Clarkston. Mr. Cooley preceded Marian in death after 42 years of marriage.

                Marian had resided in Harrison since 1982, moving from Waterford, Michigan. Marian was an active member of Community Baptist Church until her health wouldn’t allow. She served her church as a Past Secretary, and Treasurer, as well as countless hours assisting in the kitchen at church. Marian also spent many years assisting her husband with the family plumbing business in Waterford and Harrison, answering phones, bookkeeping and secretarial work. She also owned and operated Cooley Day Care of Harrison for over five years for many local children who loved her. Marian was Past President of the Harrison Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of the Harrison Lioness Club. Mrs. Cooley enjoyed her free time doing Diamond Dot projects, adult coloring books, camping with her husband and family, trying to find deals at area flea markets and watching televised MSU Spartan Football games, Detroit Tigers Baseball and Detroit Red Wings Hockey.

                Surviving Mrs. Cooley are her six loving children: Byron Cooley and wife Denise Reuven of Waterford, Linda Emmons of Harrison, Ruth McCausland of Fife Lake, Michigan, Donna Cooley of California, Merritt Cooley of Harrison and Amy Hubbard and husband Joe also of Harrison, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mrs. Cooley also was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Bruce Cooley, one son-in-law, Steve McCausland, one sister, Edith Bailey, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

                Celebration of Life services honoring Marian will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from Community Baptist Church, 3088 Mostetler Road, Harrison with Pastor Ron Callen officiating. Family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the church from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorial gifts or floral arrangements in memory of Marian may be considered to Community Baptist Church.
