Lois Ann Chinn age 76 of Harrison passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at McLaren Central Michigan of Mt. Pleasant. Lois was born August 6, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of James and Betty (Setters) Neff.

Lois graduated from Warren High School, Warren, Michigan in 1964. Lois was united in marriage to Mr. Bruce Edward Chinn on June 19, 1965 in Warren, Michigan. After moving to Harrison in 1971 with her husband Bruce and 2 daughters Shelly and Stacey to raise their family. After moving to Harrison, starting a business and giving birth to her third child, Marcus, Lois became a very prominent member in the Harrison’s community.

Lois was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her talents were endless. She played the clarinet, was a majorette leading the high school band twirling her baton, and she could sing. Her voice was angelic and breathtaking. Lois’s love for singing could be heard in the car, the living room, outside working in her flower beds, singing to her grandchildren and the church choir. Music was important to her, and she treated it like therapy. Lois also liked to dance, she would be caught dancing with her husband, and they danced effortlessly. After marrying Bruce, the love of her life, Lois set forth achieving not only her goals, but her dreams. Her dream was to raise a family and be the best mother she could be. While raising her children she was always present at their sporting events, dance recitals, horse show events and countless other activities. This love to dote over her children continued as she watched her grandchildren grow. Lois was very active with 4-H Youth and other horse organizations. She volunteered her time not only for her children but the community’s children as well. Lois’s home was an open-door policy to anyone she came across. Aside from Lois’s first love, her family, she was also very active in the community as a prominent businesswoman. She conducted herself with poise and grace and was able to complete every task she ever encountered. Throughout the years, Lois was also a member of the Harrison Chamber of Commerce, Eastern Stars and the First Congregational Church as a Women’s Fellowship participant, choir member and an advocate for her faith.
