BERNARD “BUD” RAY IUTZI

                Bernard “Bud” Ray Iutzi 95 of rural Harrison passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 1, 2021.  Bernard was born August 12, 1925 in Franklin Township, Clare County, Michigan, the son of Rolla Allen Iutzi and Flossie Anna (Townsend) Iutzi. Bernard graduated from Harrison Community Schools in 1945 (the last living alumni) Bud was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Joan Lyons on January 16, 1954 at Skeels Baptist Church, Skeels, Michigan. Mrs. Iutzi preceded Bud in death on July 13, 2019 after sixty-five years of marriage.

                Bud retired from Harrison Community Schools as a bus driver on July 30, 1988 after forty-five years safely transporting students to and from school. Bud also worked over twenty years at Peters Crate Works of Harrison as a truck driver. His greatest passion and life-long commitment was spent farming at the family farm. When Mr. Iutzi wasn’t working, he enjoyed woodworking, televised Detroit Tiger Baseball, watching his grandchildren at school sporting activities and tinkering around his farm. Bud was very proud of his 4H students that he taught in his woodworking group many years ago.

                Surviving Mr. Iutzi are his four loving children: one son, Michael Iutzi and wife Jane of Harrison, three daughters: Mary Hayes and husband Graig of Mason, Michigan, Debbie Alton and husband Kevin of Lansing, Michigan and Tina Teed of Orleans, Michigan, seven grandchildren, one great-grandson, one sister, Annabelle Mathews of Harrison, one brother, Harold Iutzi and wife Ethel Jean Iutzi of Harrison, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and his beloved dog, Annie. Mr. Iutzi was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Patrick Roland Iutzi, three infant grandchildren, son in-law, Brian Teed and two sisters: Julia Huber and Violet Price.

                Funeral services honoring Mr. Iutzi will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. from Hope Baptist Church, 3315 E. Townline Lake Road, Harrison, with Pastor Don Block officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison and again on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be in Cedar Crest Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be considered to the Iutzi Family.
