Beth Louise Bailey (Curtiss), age 79, of Harrison passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at home with family by her side.

Beth was born July 30, 1943, to parents J. Sterling and Opal (Dexter) Curtis. She moved from Farwell to Harrison, after marrying Merle Ray Bailey September 4, 1960, who preceded her in death in 2017. Together, the two of them grew their family to include three daughters.

Beth attended the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many years as an active member. When she wasn’t in the church pews, she would spend much of her time outdoors. Beth enjoyed gardening as well as bird watching and fishing. However, her most enjoyed activity was spending time with her grandchildren.

Beth is survived by her three daughters; Marcia (Gary) St. Denis of Harrison, Valerie (Andrew) Shull of Harrison and Sharon (Scott) St. Germaine; 5 granddaughters; 4 grandsons; 11 great grandchildren;  three brothers; Rod (Toni) Curtiss of Harrison, Richard Curtiss of Farwell, Sterling (Kathy) Curtiss of Florida; one sister, Marlene Grix of Harrison, brother in law, Paul Bailey of Harrison, and nearly 100 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Beth was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Merle Bailey; parents, J. Sterling and Opal (Dexter) Curtiss; two brothers, John and Patrick; six sisters, Eunice, Teesil, Florence, Juanita, Paddy, and Judy.

A celebration of Beth’s life will be held at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Saturday, June 24 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to North Woods Nursing Center Activity Fund.
