Political platform statement

Why I am running for this office: A 20-year resident of Clare County, previous business owner in Harrison and Clare. 39 years’ work experience in the telecommunications industry, veteran USAF. Current and past organization affiliations include; serving on Hayes Township Zoning Board of Appeals and township election official. Past board member of Harrison Chamber of Commerce, Harrison Robotics Mentor, Harrison Frostbite golf chairman, Summerfield Township Planning Commission, Society of Telecommunications Engineers, Chapter President and board member. Being involved with many programs in our community over the years has enabled me to understand, appreciate and respect our community, people and principles and I regard this office as an opportunity to continue to support my community. I believe it is the responsibility of local governmental agencies is to act responsibly to balance the health, safety and welfare of its residents, to manage sustainable economic growth, provide necessary services and programs to support a lifestyle to coincide with its residents needs and wants. We also have challenges that we'll need to continue to address and work together to resolve until we reach a resolution that best serves the residents. The 5 core competencies of a Township Trustee are: (1) Understanding Township Operations, (2) Effective Interpersonal skills, (3) Possesses leadership abilities, (4) Demonstrates objective policy making skills, (5) Awareness of Township Issues. I feel that I have effectively been executing all these traits throughout my career and am committed to Hayes Township. I would appreciate your support as Hayes Township Trustee.
