Clare County Sheriff Release
Clare County, MI – Deputies with the Clare County Sheriff’s Office made several arrests this past weekend following traffic enforcement and patrol operations throughout the county.
Over the course of the weekend, four individuals were arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Two of those incidents involved minor vehicle crashes. Deputies also conducted numerous traffic stops, issuing several misdemeanor citations.
In addition to impaired driving arrests, two separate traffic stops on February 13 resulted in multiple narcotics-related arrests.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., a deputy stopped a 2013 black Dodge Charger for speeding on M-115 near Silver Lake Drive in Surrey Township. The vehicle was occupied by three individuals residing in McBain: David Thomas Gallego Lopez, 23; Josue Miguel-Raymundo Marcos, 21; and Miguel Isaias Raymundo Tum, 19. All three subjects provided forged International Driver’s Licenses. After confirming the documents were fraudulent, deputies took the individuals into custody.
A search of the vehicle located a personal-use amount of a white powder that field tested positive for fentanyl. All three subjects were charged with Possession of Forged/Altered/False Identification and Possession of a Controlled Substance less than 25 grams.
During the investigation, deputies determined the three individuals were in the United States illegally and are believed to be originally from Guatemala. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was contacted, and detainers were placed on all three individuals.
Later that same evening, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Cherry Street near Harrison Street in the City of Harrison for a defective taillight on a white 2009 Cadillac Escalade. Upon contact with the driver, 63-year-old Roxane Lynn Woods of Harrison, the deputy observed a white powder residue on her driver’s license. The substance field tested positive for fentanyl.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of approximately 27 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale, Suboxone strips, and items used to ingest narcotics. Woods and her passenger, Kasey Rae McGillis of Harrison, were both taken into custody.
Roxane Lynn Woods was charged with one count of Controlled Substance – Delivery/Manufacture of Methamphetamine with a second or subsequent offense notice; one count of Controlled Substance – Possession of a Narcotic less than 25 grams with a second or subsequent offense notice; and one count of Controlled Substance – Possession of Analogues with a second or subsequent offense notice. Kasey Rae McGillis was charged with one count of Controlled Substance – Possession of Methamphetamine.
The Clare County Sheriff’s Office reminds residents that deputies will continue proactive patrol and traffic enforcement efforts to promote public safety throughout Clare County.
