Farwell High School has been selected as a recipient of a Universal FAFSA Challenge Award from the Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential. Farwell High School will receive $68,010.51 to support efforts in increasing Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) completion and expanding access to postsecondary education for students.
The Universal FAFSA Challenge initiative provides funding to schools across Michigan to implement evidence-based strategies that assist students and families through the FAFSA process. The goal is to strengthen supports that help students complete this critical step toward college and career training opportunities.
By participating in this program, Farwell High School will enhance its capacity to guide students in navigating financial aid applications and removing barriers to higher education. FAFSA completion remains one of the strongest predictors of postsecondary enrollment and persistence.
This investment is part of a statewide effort totaling $10 million awarded to 67 school districts and academies to foster college access and readiness.
