Sharill Ann (Steele) Knoll, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2026. She was born on March 6, 1940, to Fred and Ione Steele in Flint, Michigan. She was the big sister (rule follower) to Charlotte Winterlee and Buck Steele.

In 1970, Sharill and her family moved to Harrison, Michigan where she developed her roots and many relationships within the community. In 1971, Sharill reached out to a group of ladies that may just have needed a break from everyday life and formed the "Monday Night Girls". These ladies met every week and shared friendship, treats, and laughter for over 55 years. In 1973, Shari" became a member of the First Congregational Church and served on many committees and groups throughout the years. Recently she was honored for her dedication and achievements with the church. Sharill was a sales associate at the Harrison Lumber Company for over 30 years. Her knowledge, smile, and willingness to help others made her everyone's "go to" when they stopped in the store. She retired in 2002 and fully enjoyed her retirement. She immediately joined the Clare County Crazy Quilters. She was a very talented quilter over the years. She was an avid "knitter" most of her life which was her downtime hobby. Shari" enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit Europe over 7 times, bus trips with the Quilting ladies that took her on adventures all over the country.

Sharill always had a need to take care of others. She had a big heart, excellent cook, cared for the elderly, loved music, singing, dancing, but most of all she loved her family. The love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was undeniable and never wavered. She stood her ground on everything she believed in.

Sharill is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and lone Steele, son-in-law Ronald Fanslau, sister-in-law Cathy Steele. Sharill is survived by her sister Charlotte Winterlee, brother Buck Steele, her children Steven Brock (Kate, Zeke & Toby), Kelly Fanslau, Michelle Coleman (Lou Kurant), Christopher Knoll (Ragen Bleeker). Her grandchildren Michelle Murphy (Ian), Kyle Fanslau (Brittany), Austin Coleman (Erika), Allie Schten (Colin), and great grandchildren Owen Murphy, Hunter Fanslau, Lex Suggs, Kiley (Midge), Waylon Schten, Winnie Schten. Sharill's nieces, nephews, and great nieces/ nephews were such an important part of her life. They always held a special place in her heart.

“Shari" and her sister Charlotte had a very special bond. They lived together for 35 years, worked together, shared the same church, knitted together, quilted together and truly enjoyed each other's company. Her love for Ronnie Girl (Kelly's dog) was very special. In her final years she dedicated her time to taking the best care of Ronnie.
