Posted

Small Business Deal Advisors is pleased to announce that Reinke's Hearth of The Home Fireplace Shop of Harrison, Michigan has been acquired by Positive Chimney & Fire Place of Cadillac, Michigan.

Founded in 1976, Reinke's Hearth of The Home Fireplace Shop provides chimney, fireplace, and stove products and installation services to the northern Lower Peninsula.

Through two generations of ownership, the company has enhanced many homes and accumulated much success. Hearth of the Home has fostered a loyal customer base through quality products, services, and genuine care for clients. The company’s prior owners, Jim and Mark Reinke, are eagerly anticipating their retirement, as they look forward to pursuing their passions and hobbies in greater depth. Jim, a collector and restorer of vintage Indian motorcycles, is excited to have more Saturdays free so that he can attend auctions and search for new additions to his collection.

Mark is looking forward to spending more time with his beloved grandchildren and creating new memories. He also plans to dedicate more time to one of his favorite pastimes, fishing. Both men are looking forward to this next chapter in their lives and the changes it will bring.

Reinke’s Hearth of the Home Fireplace Shop was acquired by Chris Richardson and Mike Gamble of Positive Chimney & Fire Place. Founded in 1982, Positive Chimney provides Northwest Michigan residents with professional sales, installation, and service for all hearth and home needs. Chris and Mike bring a deep understanding of the industry and an eagerness to

grow.

“The Reinke brothers have a great business nestled in the center of the state of Michigan and we have always had the intention to expand our coverage into the mid-state area. So, as they were considering retirement, we were able to step right in and take over the reins,” Chris Richardson commented when asked what attracted him to the company. “We will be implementing more modern infrastructure and refreshing the store displays. Additionally, we can offer more services from that location.”

Scott Nicholson of Small Business Deal Advisors served as the lead Mergers and Acquisitions

Advisor to Reinke's Hearth of The Home Fireplace Shop. Scott credits the success of this transaction to the robust marketing system in place at Small Business Deal Advisors that helped him find the perfect buyers for Jim and Mark.

“It was a pleasure working with Jim, Mark, Chris, and Mike,” Scott Nicholson commented. "After dedicating so many years to building their company, the Reinke family was very careful in

choosing the right buyer to take over. They have put a lot of effort into creating a strong business, and I am glad that we were able to find a buyer that is the perfect fit. I want to extend my best wishes to the Reinke brothers as they transition into retirement, and I hope that Chris and Mike will continue to achieve success in their future endeavors."

“We were excited to work with Small Business Deal Advisors on our second location. Scott worked with both sides to find a sensible transaction that worked for us.” commented Chris Richardson.

“Scott was a pleasure to work with, we really felt that he understood our need to find the right buyer that could carry on the tradition of the business we built over the last 46 years,” Jim Reinke shared regarding the transaction.

Small Business Deal Advisors advised Reinke’s Hearth of the Home Fireplace Shop on the sale

through the development of marketing materials, comprehensive marketing of the acquisition opportunity, and consulting through the negotiation, due diligence, and closing periods.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
