Park Receives Sprucing, Special Guests

HARRISON – While the Car and Bike Show was in progress, preparations were being completed for the Memorial Day Ceremonies at Veterans Freedom Park. And, true to form, Deb Mason, pictured above, was onsite picking, pruning, manicuring mulch and spiffing all the abundant flowers and shrubs planted there. After Mason moved away from Harrison, her job as the park’s master gardener was been placed in the competent hands of fellow master gardener Bob Hayward.

Mason was not the only person visiting the park Sunday. Maye Tessner-Rood, pictured below, came to visit, bringing with her the Stiletto Rosies motorcycle group who had returned to visit the park and check out its growth, including the rosebush the group had donated.
