New Home for Little Fishes in Budd Lake

HARRISON – When October rolls around, it is time for the annual Budd Lake fish planting project. This endeavor is undertaken as a joint venture by the Budd Lake Association and the City of Harrison, with fish being purchased by both entities.

This year, the planting included black crappies and bluegills. Some will winter over well, some will become loon food and food for larger fish, and some will grow and become a prized catch for the avid fisher folk who frequent the waters of Budd Lake.

As fate would have it, the fish delivery was accomplished in the nick of time, as the Imlay City Fish Farm truck suffered a broken serpentine belt on its way – yet the fish arrived precisely on time. After the fish were unloaded, the next stop was a local parts store, and making the repair.
