MSP Arrest Clare Man for Fleeing & Eluding and Operating While Intoxicated

CLARE, MI. On June 12, 2021 at approximately 9:12 p.m., a trooper from the Mount Pleasant State Police Post attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle near Beaverton Road and Clare Avenue in Grant Township, Clare County. The driver failed to stop and accelerated away at a high rate of speed, causing the trooper to lose sight of the vehicle.
The trooper was able to obtain the vehicle's registration plate and noticed the registered owner’s address was nearby. The trooper responded to the residence and observed the vehicle that failed to stop parked in the driveway. The operator, a 26-year-old man from Clare, was seated in the driver’s seat. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was lodged at the Clare County Jail for Fleeing & Eluding and OperatingWhile Intoxicated.
