Meet Aaron Strouse: Firefighter, Photographer

Posted

Clare resident Aaron Strouse is not only a member of the Clare Fire Department, but also has taken on the job of official CFD photographer. Strouse took college courses on photography, but photography actually has always been his passion, having started with photography when he was 12 years old.

His photos were displayed at Whiting Forest in Midland for two summers (2008 and 2009), and he has been a member of Michigan Nature Association for 15 years. In 2008, Strouse won first place in the MNA state photography contest for orchids. He is also a member of Native Orchid Conference and has completed 12-plus years of photographing all Michigan’s native orchids. He also does slide presentations all around the state of photographs he has taken.

Strouse has said he considers his new membership in the Clare Fire Department an honor, and likewise an honor to step into the shoes of the late Bob Guiliani (Guys & Dolls Photography) as the fire department’s new photographer.
