Malcolm “Doc” James Wilson 88 of Harrison, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday, June 11, 2021. Malcolm was born the son of Dr. Earl C. Wilson and Laura J. (McArthur) Wilson on February 25, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. Malcolm graduated from Howe Military School.  On September 20, 1952, he was married to Shirley Snyder.  Soon after, he spent two years in the Korean War. After honorably serving his country, Malcolm was discharged in 1955 and returned home to his family.  He was employed by Dow Chemical where he retired from after 38 years. Malcolm was an example of hard work and success. He inspired his children to follow their passions and develop their talents. He was supportive, energetic, and fun. He was an avid fisherman, spending many summers on Lake Michigan fishing for salmon and in Ontario portaging into many mountain lakes. After retirement, he joined the Michigan Trail Riders, and completed a total of 50 shore to shore crossings on his favorite horses, Ranger and Zena. He loved to make a mess in the kitchen, and was quite a good chef. His specialties included homemade bread, bean soup, and fried fish, but the favorite of all were his homemade chocolate malts. He loved to take summer vacations with his family, and spent almost every summer riding the roller coasters at Cedar Point or taking road trips to other states. His family meant everything to him, and he glowed with pride. We will forever miss his huge smile and sparkling blue eyes.
