LORI ELLEN GARGARO

Lori Ellen Gargaro, age 66, of Harrison passed away on March 10, 2023. 

Lori, the daughter of Dan and Lil Griffin, was born on January 17, 1957 and grew up in Redford Township, Michigan.  She graduated from Redford Union High School in 1975.  Lori worked as an insurance billing specialist for several medical practices in the Detroit area for many years.

On April 24, 1989, Lori married the love of her life, Richard Gargaro, and they lived in Wixom, Michigan.  She was an excellent bowler and loved bowling on leagues and in tournaments.

Lori and Richard bought a home on Sutherland Lake in Harrison, Michigan, and were thrilled to move there full-time in 1995 when Richard retired.  They loved living on the lake and enjoyed their life there with many good times: boat rides, bonfires, and wonderful friendships! 

Richard passed away in 2001 and Lori stayed at the lake they loved.  She served as a trustee for the Sutherland Lake Improvement Association for over 20 years with nearly perfect attendance at board meetings.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, nephew Jason Beck and much-loved dog, Axel.  She is survived by her brother Denny (Joanne) Griffin of Lansing, niece Meagan (Scott) Bright, nephew Jeremy (Ashley Gaia) Beck, beloved dog Vinny, and dear cat Bandit.  Lori is also survived by many close friends who loved her and will miss her dearly!  She was a very special lady and the best friend you could ever ask for!

There is no service planned but there will be a memorial for Lori in Harrison later this spring.
