I would like to praise the Harrison School Board for their balanced and fair treatment of all during the "books brouhaha" April 10. A full account, well written by Cleaver staff writer Dianne Alward-Biery, gave a clear picture of the meeting. While I was appalled at some of the reported comments and homophobic remarks, the School Board made a sincere and successful effort to hear all sides. I am certain that they will come to an informed and sensible resolution which, I personally hope, will avoid banning books and encourage the sound and well-rounded education of children.
