Leeray Carl Smith Sr.

               LeeRay Carl Smith age 90 of rural Harrison passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, Gladwin. LeeRay was born January 10, 1936, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the son of Mary (Bullock) Smith and Cyrene Smith Sr. LeeRay was united in marriage to Ms. Eva Bullock on February 14, 1958 in Stockbridge, Michigan. Eva preceded LeeRay in death on February 8, 2024.

               Mr. Smith had resided in Harrison since 1989, moving from Lansing, Michigan. LeeRay was a member of Harrison Moose Lodge and Family Center #2235 for many years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing and watching baseball, was an avid Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions and UofM fan.

               Surviving LeeRay are his five children: Linda Boak and husband Robert of Harrison, Sheryl Teves and husband Tom of Harrison, Carl Smith and wife Heather also of Harrison, Eva Albers and husband John of Harrison and Marty Chalmers and husband Scott of Lansing, Michigan, twenty grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends and his beloved cat, RaeAnn. LeeRay also was preceded in death by his parents, his son LeeRay Carl Smith Jr., one sister, Mary Sadowski and two brothers; Cyrene Smith Jr. and Larry Smith.

               Following Mr. Smith’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no services scheduled for Mr. Smith at this time.
