JOAN BAILEY

Joan Bailey 87 of Davison, Michigan, formerly of Grand Blanc, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2019. Joan was born August 28, 1932 in Davison the daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Bullis) Dougherty. On September 25, 1948 in Harrison, Joan was united in marriage to the love of her life, Mr. George Bailey. After forty-six years of marriage, Mr. Bailey preceded Joan in death.

Joan had resided in Davison since 1999, moving from Grand Blanc. Joan attended First Flint Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years. Joan enjoyed reading, assembling Jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, cooking and going shopping and dinner dates with her birthday club girls.

Surviving Mrs. Bailey are her two daughters; Virginia Hoeflaak of Silver Springs, Florida and Sharon Hilgendorf and husband John of Davison, one son, Paul Bailey and wife Carrie of Harrison, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, one sister Joan Fitzpatrich of La Grange, Texas, one brother, Robert Tresler of Gladwin, Michigan, plus many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mrs. Bailey also was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Anne Dowland and Juanita Joan Bailey, one sister, Doris Duncan, one brother, Joseph Dougherty and son in-law, Thomas Hoeflaak. Funeral services honoring Mrs. Bailey will be held Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. from First Flint Seventy-day Adventist Church, G-4285 Beecher Road, Flint, Michigan with Pastor Todd Ervin officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 11 a.m. until time of service. On Saturday, September 21, 2019 funeral services honoring Joan will be held at 10:30 a.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison. Visitation will begin Saturday, September 19, 2019 from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison.
