JANUARY 25, 1949 - SEPTEMBER 20, 2023

A beloved member of the Harrison community is no longer with us. Jeffery "Jeff" Ralph Kinne, age 74, of Harrison, passed away peacefully of cancer on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Woodland Hospice House, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. Jeffery was born January 25, 1949, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of the late Francis Neil Kinne and Barbara Jeanette (Brubaker) Kinne. Jeff graduated from Harrison High School in 1967. He furthered his education at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Jeff was almost like an unofficial mayor in Harrison. He brightened people's lives as he walked along the streets and around Budd Lake almost daily, waving to and greeting everyone he met. As he hung out in Harrison restaurants and the library, he talked and made friends, while studying and writing religious texts. Jeff's main interests were religion, music, and art. In college Jeff was a fine arts major, creating beautiful portraits and other art. In high school he played drums and sang in a band named "DJ and the Minors," later renamed "The Beethoven Four." While attending college, he continued playing in bands that performed around the state. Later he played with bands in and around Harrison. Jeff was a long-time resident and well known personality in the community. Jeff's family, friends, and community will miss him.

Surviving Mr. Kinne are four siblings: Bonnie Kinne Collins of Cincinnati, Ohio; James Kinne (preceded by Pat) of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; Candy Kinne DiCicco (John) of Springfield, Virginia; and Shawn Kinne (Stephanie Ehrhardt) of Saginaw, Michigan; plus eight loving nieces and nephews: Jennifer Brumbaugh (Jeremy), April Stammen (Jack Noppert), Yvonne Kinne Holley, Nicole Kinne (Jim Burgess), Sophia Kinne, Michael DiCicco (Renata), Nicholas DiCicco (Anastasia), and Gina DiCicco (Charles Mateer) and 13 great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends.
