Harrison Man Sentenced for Meth Convictions

James Speer, of Harrison, Michigan, plead guilty in two separate files on July 17, 2023. In one file he plead guilty to Delivery/Manufacture Methamphetamine, Delivery/Manufacture Controlled Substance under 25 grams, and Maintaining a Drug House. In the other file he plead guilty to Delivery/Manufacture Methamphetamine. The convictions were a result of separate investigations conducted by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department and MINT. He was sentenced on September 11, 2023, to prison by Judge Mienk. He was ordered to serve 3 years to 20 years; 3 years to 20 years; 13 months to 2 years; and 3 years to 20 years respectively. All sentences are to run concurrent with one another. He was given credit for 4 days previously served. Between the two files he was ordered to pay a grand total of $2,032 in assorted fines and costs.
