Gladwin County Sheriff Release
On Monday, August 24, 2026 at approximately 7:50pm Deputies from the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office were called to investigate a personal injury accident involving two vehicles on Round Lake Rd. approximately one-half mile south of Pleasant View Dr., within Sherman Township.
The preliminary investigation indicates a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado being operated by (54) year old, Jennifer Smith, from Flint, Mi. was traveling southbound on Round Lake Rd. and the second vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Avalon, being driven by (40) year old, Holly Mosely, of West Branch was traveling north on Round Lake Rd.. The two vehicles collided head-on near a curved section of roadway.
Although life saving measures were attempted, Smith succumbed to crash related injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mosely sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown by helicopter from the scene for medical treatment.
The section of Round Lake Rd. where the crash occurred was shut down for several hours while the Accident Reconstructionist from the Michigan State Police were on scene. The Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted by the Gladwin City Police Department, members of Butman Township Fire & Rescue, and medical professionals from My-Michigan Ambulance Service.
The cause of this crash is still under investigation. Reports will be forwarded to the Gladwin County Prosecutor’s Office for review once completed.
