Fatal Accident with Lawnmower Takes Life of Gladwin Man, 70

On Saturday, July 01, 2023, at approximately 4:00pm Deputies from the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence within Gladwin Township to investigate an incident involving a male subject being trapped under a tractor.

Upon arrival, Deputies discovered Richard Hall, (age 70), pinned under a large, zero-turn, lawnmower near the garage at the residence. It is believed Hall had been using a tractor with front end loader to lift the front of the lawnmower with the use of a chain. The chain connection to the lawnmower failed causing the mower to fall on Hall while he was under it.

Hall was extracted from under the lawnmower by rescue personnel from the Gladwin Rural Urban Fire Department. Hall was pronounced deceased at the residence by paramedics from MyMichigan Health Ambulance Service.
