After weather washed out their Jack Pine Conference meet earlier in the week, the Farwell track and field teams were able to get an event in on Friday, when they were at Lakeview for an invitational. Out of the 11 teams in attendance, the Farwell girls finished 10th while the boys were able to place ninth.
The Farwell girls had Mya Yarhouse finish sixth in the 100-meter dash with a 14.19, Megan Steinert was 12th in the 200 and Janelle Fouts was third in the 400 with a 1:07.73. Aubrianna Terrian was 14th in the 800, Mariah DeGreer placed 11th in the 1600 (7:07) and Aubrianna Terrian was also 11th in the 3200 (18:08).
Their top relay was the 4x200, as they took fourth place with a 1:59.40 thanks to runs by Hunter Geren, Mia Dailey, Yarhouse and Steinert.
Jasmine Green was their top placer in both throwing events, coming in 12th in the discus with a 66-03 and she was 14th in the shot put with a 21-03. H. Green was also sixth in the long jump with a distance of 13-05.
Some top finishers for the Farwell boys included Mason Esterline taking sixth in the 100 and seventh in the 200, with times of 12.00 and 24.21. Memphis Peever was sixth in the 400 with a 55.01 and Clayton Lutes was 10th in the 800 on a time of 2:23. Keagan Terrian was 15th in the 1600 and ninth in the 3200.
In the shot put, Hunter Miller was 15th with a distance of 32-02 and he was able to take 24th in the discus as well. Fabian Holtman had a jump of 18-00.5 in the long jump to finish 12th overall in that event.
Farwell was scheduled to be at Meridian for a league meet on Wednesday, they’ll be at Mt. Pleasant on Friday, and they’ll head to Meridian on Friday, May 1 for an invitational.
