The Farwell track and field teams hit the road for Meridian on Wednesday, April 22. They took part in a Jack Pine Conference double dual, where both their boys’ and girls’ teams came up short against host Meridian and Standish-Sterling.
Highlights for the boys’ included Hayden Roberts taking fifth in the 100-meter dash with a 12.09, Marcos Allen Quero was fifth in the 200 with a 25.07 and Memphis Peever was seventh in the 400, Rylee Sprague added a second place run in the 200 with a 2:17, followed closely by Clayton Lutes in third just a few steps behind. Sprague was also second in the 1600 with a run of 5:09 and Keegan Terrian was second and Conner Cousineau was third in the 3200 with times of 11:45 and 11:58.
They had a first-place relay team in the 4x800, with Peever, Lutes, Fabian Holtman and Brian Brown taking the top spot with a time of 9:26.
Miller was sixth in the shot put (33-05) and eighth in the discus (81-03) and Holtman was able to take third in the long jump with a distance of 18-03.
For the Lady Eagles, Mya Yarhouse was second in the 100 and 200, getting times of 13.72 and 29.22. Jenelle Fouts was second in the 400 with a 1:08.02, Willow Hooper was fourth in the 800 at 2:57 and she was also fourth in the 1600 at 6:41. Marley Allbee was able to take fourth in the 100 hurdles with a 20.73.
They had the 4x200 team of Mia Dailey, Yarhouse, Megan Steinert and Hunter Green take first with a time of 2:00, and the 4x400 team of Paycee Grandsen, Fouts, Millie McAuley and Aubrianna Terrian won with a 4:53.
In the shot put, Jasmine Green took fourth with a throw of 23-04, Aubrianna Terrian was seventh in the discus with a 68-04 and Hooper took second in the long jump with a bound of 12-06.50.
Farwell hosted a Jack Pine meet on Wednesday and they’ll head to Meridian on Friday for an invitational.
