The Farwell cross country team sent their runners to Houghton Lake on Tuesday, Sept. 8, to compete in a meet dubbed the Bobcat Run at the Lake. The Eagles did not figure into the team scoring, but they did have several solid individual performances.

North Trails, a running club in Northern Michigan won both the boys’ and girl’s side of the meet, while Fairview was second and Tawas Area was third on the boys’ side. Tawas was also runner-up in the girls’ race.

The Farwell boys had four runners competing, and Conner Cousineau had a great race, crossing the line fourth with a solid time of 18:40. Callen Mogg placed 18th with a run of 22:51, Clayton Lutes was 19th with a 22:55 and Paxton Terrian was 25th with a run of 24:07.

Three Lady Eagles took to the course, with Mariah DeGreer getting a top-10 finish. She was eighth overall with a time of 27:11. Aubrianna Terrian was 18th with a 30:42 and Sierra Spence was 22nd with a 32:19.

Farwell will return to racing action on Wednesday, Sept. 23, when they head for Gladwin for the first Jack Pine Conference jamboree. The Eagles will also run at the Mustang Invite in Montabella on Sept. 30.
