Elwood Leroy Brooks, age 86, of Harrison passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Community under the care of Compassus Hospice.
Funeral Services for Elwood will take place at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Cedar Crest Cemetery, Harrison. The family will receive friends on the day of the service from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Elwood was born on July 17, 1939, in Franklin Township, son of Floyd Leroy and Hilda (Miller) Brooks. Elwood loved farming and taking care of his cows. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting.
Elwood is survived by his son, Dale (Tracy) Brooks of Linden; granddaughters, Tiffany Brooks and Faith (Josh Brenner) Brooks; two great-granddaughters, Clara Waller and Ella Waller; stepchildren, Jim (Tammy) Roland and Angie Runnels; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Elwood is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Richard Brooks, John Brooks, and William Brooks; two sisters, Rosemary Brooks and Janet Moyer.
