DONALD “DON” EDWARD HYDE

Donald “Don” Edward Hyde 76 of Harrison passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at MidMichigan Regional Medical Center-Midland. Donald was born November 6, 1944, in Flint, Michigan the son of Eugene and Gladys (Nicklas) Hyde. Don graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1962. Mr. Hyde was united in marriage to the former Charlotte Ella Wyman on June 11, 1963 in Burton, Michigan.

Don had resided in Harrison since 2015, coming from Burton. Mr. Hyde retired from General Motors Corporation, Pontiac Division, after thirty years of dedicated service as a forklift operator. Don was an avid woodworker, creating many keepsakes for his family over the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and ice fishing, watching old western television shows as well as movies and books. Don enjoyed watching televised Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions games.

Surviving Mr. Hyde is his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Mrs. Charlotte Ella Hyde of Harrison, his three children; Jeffrey Hyde of Harrison, Jody Bennett and husband Gordon also of Harrison and Mark Hyde and wife Vicki of Altoona, Iowa, six grandchildren; Cheyenne Shull, Donald Hyde and fiancé Macy Smith, Joseph Bennett and wife Emily, Wesley Hyde, Leah Johnson and Dakota Bennett, sixteen grandchildren, one great-grandson, one sister, Violet Conger of Georgia, plus many nieces and nephews. Mr. Hyde was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Eugene Hyde and Clyde Hyde.
