DENISE “POLLY” LYNN NICHOLS-ROOT

Denise “Polly” Lynn Nichols-Root, 50, of rural Harrison passed away suddenly on Friday, September 20, 2019 at SH Reed City Hospital. Denise was born January 23, 1969, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan the daughter of David and Barbara (Lootens) Nichols. Polly graduated from Harrison High School in 1997. Polly had resided in Harrison since 1998, moving from Beaverton, Michigan and formerly of Gladwin, Michigan. Polly was united in marriage to Mr. Stanley “Stan” Levi Root Jr. on December 30, 2015, in Clare, Michigan.

Mrs. Nichols-Root was employed with Lear Corporation-Farwell Plant as a Lead Auditor for many years. She also was co-owner and co-operator of Cozy Custom Candles of Harrison. Polly enjoyed candle making, arts and crafts, cooking, baking, cheering for her beloved Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings and NASCAR racers. She also enjoyed travelling to Michigan International Speedway with her husband and family to watch the NASCAR Truck Series. Polly loved to read, go on camping trips and travel throughout Michigan to visit the many Lighthouse locations.

Surviving Polly is her loving husband, Mr. Stanley “Stan” Levi Root Jr. of Harrison, her mother, Barbara Marie Nichols of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, two daughters; Sabrina Bower of Paducah, Kentucky and Stephanie Bower of San Francisco, California, three sons; Luke Bower of Michigan, Darryl Bower and wife Jessica of Gillette, Wyoming and Alex Bower and wife Ashlea of Fulton, Kentucky, one stepdaughter, Amanda Root of Farwell, six grandchildren; Scarlett Bower, Cedric Rantins, Ava Bower, Anamarie Bower, Everett Bower and Violet Bower, one sister, Debbie Nichols of Beaverton, one brother, David Nichols of Michigan and her mother-in-law, Georgette Root of Gladwin, two sisters-in-law: Christine Anita Ward and husband Ward of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Chrystal Annette Swerden of Gladwin. Polly was preceded in death by her father and one sister, Cindy Kline, and one niece, Rosie Kline, and her father-in-law, Mr. Stanley Levi Root Sr.

A visitation for Polly was held Saturday, September 29, 2019, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
