A season ago, the Clare golf team finished third in the Jack Pine Conference and narrowly missed out on going to the state finals, finishing third in regionals. The Pioneers lost two members from that team, so they do return a good amount of experience coming back to the squad this spring. They hope that their newcomers can make an impact as well once things get going.

“We hope to be competitive in the Jack Pine and improve in each event,” head coach Chris Fedewa said.

On the team this year will be Noah Heatley-Slusher, Spencer Nichols, Bryce Wieferich, Dominic Kamyszek, Kolton Pung, Michael Castle, Calvin Clark, Cameron Blain and Tucker Rowell.

“Bryce Wieferich and Kolten Pung have a lot of experience, and we will be counting on them to lead us,” Fedewa said. “We will need to develop depth. Our three-through-six golfers have had very little experience. The league graduated a lot of seniors so it’s hard to say who is going to be strong.”
