Clare County Food Group Seeks Volunteers for Monthly Distribution

At the October distribution of the Clare County Food group 451 families were served. As the number of families served is going up, volunteers have gone down.

At the October distribution several people in line noticed the light number of volunteers and got out of their cars to assist. It takes approximately 30 volunteers for the distribution to run smoothly.

Bonnie Smalley, from the Clare County Food group made an appeal to businesses at the Harrison Chamber Business After Hours on Monday for volunteers. She invited businesses to volunteer and bring their teams to help once a month.

The distribution has now been moved indoors for the winter at the Clare County Transit building at 1473 Transportation Drive in Harrison.

The November distribution will take place this Saturday, Nov. 4. Food distribution from 10:00 a.m. until at least 11:30 a.m.
