I realize there are a lot of questions surrounding the changes to elections that were passed by Michigan voters in November of 2022 with the passing of the constitutional amendment known as Proposal 22-2.
I want to give everyone the opportunity to ask questions directly to me, your County Clerk, and your local township and city clerks. I will be hosting three town hall type meetings throughout Clare County, in the evenings, to give voters an opportunity to hear first-hand from their elected officials how these changes will impact them.
I will give a brief overview of when, where and how often Clare County will have early voting, the changes regarding absentee ballots, confirm the use of ID or an affidavit at the polls and ballot boxes. I expect to speak for 15-20 minutes and then take questions.
Meeting dates and locations:
Nov. 28 – 6 p.m. at the Pere Marquette District Library, 185 E. 4th St. in Clare
Dec. 5 – 6 p.m. at Hayes Township, 2055 E. Townline Lake Road., Harrison
Dec. 12 – 6 p.m. at the Surrey Township Public Library, 105 E. Michigan St., Farwell
Lori Mott
Clare County Clerk and Register of Deeds
