Clare County Baby Pantry Receives Donation from KofC and in Memory of Audrey Pardue

Posted

Winter Coats have come in from several donors this fall. The St. Athanasius Knights of Columbus donated winter coats as pictured with Fred Buckner, Richard Gostonski, and George Short. Karen Stocking from the Jack Pine Restaurant donated coats in memory of her mother Audrey Pardue. The donations made to Clare County Baby Pantry (CCBP) to honor Audrey Pardue have also been spent on winter coats.

CCBP has another project to give each family that is registered a cleaning bucket in the month of December. Donations for the buckets have come from Clare Do It Best Hardware, Clare Kiwanis, Clare Rotary and Clare County Right to Life.

A big toy drawing will be held in the month of November with more toys given away in December. Families with children under the age of five may sign up for CCBP if they are on WIC, or other qualifications. Clients visit once each month for diapers, clothing, bedding, toys, and food. Gently used clothing up to size 6T is accepted. Toddler clothing is especially needed.

The pantry is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays, but will be closed Dec. 27. CCBP gives out about 10,000 diapers each month and is extremely thankful for the community grants available to them and to all of the donors in the community. Watch for our annual fundraising campaign coming soon. Those who wish to contribute may do so at the Baby Pantry, 211 W Spruce St. in Harrison.
