Check out events throughout Clare County for the National Day of Prayer

You might be surprised to know that the Governor of all 50 states issued a call to prayer for their state last year around the first of May. For the last 75 years, the President of the United States issues a Proclamation calling the nation to prayer for the National Day of Prayer. This year is still more special as it is the 250th Birthday of our nation.

While the National Day of Prayer has a long-standing tradition, it is not a relic of the past.  It is a living expression of this nation’s enduring spirit. It is an opportunity amid the many things that seem to divide us, to pause, appreciate what we have, and join together in gratitude, faith and unity.

As millions pause once again this year, the same simple truth rings out across time: a nation that turns its heart toward gratitude and guidance will never lose its way.

May 7, 2026, is the National Day of Prayer.  You can always pray alone, but it is better with your family or join your neighbors.  Community members all around the county are coming together to pray on May 7, 2026.  Join them in the following places:

--Clare County Veterans Freedom Park 200 W. Main St, Harrison, MI 48625 12:00-12:30pm. Outdoor event. Public is invited.

--Harrison City Hall 2105 Sullivan Dr. Harrison, MI 48625 12:15-12:45 Outdoor event. Public is welcome.

--Clare County Courthouse 225 W. Main St, Harrison MI 48625 8:30-9:00am. Outdoor event. Public is welcome.

--Hamilton Township Hall 3042 N Rogers Ave. Harrison, MI 48625 9:00am at the flagpole. The Public is welcome.

--Clare Church of the Nazarene 10160 S. Grant Ave. Clare, MI. Come when you can and stay as long as your schedule permits between 1:00-3:00pm. Informal, indoor event in Room LL1. Enter through the door behind the car port.

--Lake Baptist Church 9144 Gibson Ave, Lake, MI 48632 Three different times; 9:00-9:30am, 12:00-12:30pm & 5:00-5:30pm. Public is welcome.

--Coleman Wesleyan Church 110 W Webster St., Coleman, MI 48618 From 6:00 –6:30 pm. Public is welcome.

Come out in your community and join with others in prayer for our country. Once you get started on May 7 how about continuing to pray for this country until July 4. Collective prayer across the country is a powerful thing. Continued, consistent, prayer is even more powerful.
