Cecilia "Ces" Marie Soyring, age 72, of Harrison passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025.
A Funeral Mass for Ces will be held at St. Athanasius Catholic Church on Saturday, October 18. 2025 at 12:00 p.m. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Athanasius Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow at the church. The family will receive friends at the church the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to family to go towards a scholarship in Ces' name. Envelopes will be available at the church and at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel.
Ces was born on June 22, 1953, in Gladwin, Michigan, daughter of Otto Albert and Rosa Maria (Miller) Soyring. She grew up on the family farm in Franklin Township. She attended MMCC after graduating from Harrison in 1971. She then transferred to MSU to pursue a degree in journalism. She also attended the University of Houston.
She moved to Texas to work as an insurance specialist and educator for over 30 years. She was the founder of the National Academy of Chiropractic Assistants (NACA) and also taught at the Texas Chiropractic College. She was the first non-doctor to receive the “Chiropractor of the Year” award from the Texas Chiropractic Association for her contributions to the chiropractic profession.
After returning to Michigan, she worked at MyMichigan Health in patient scheduling. Ces loved to play the lotto, play cards, and visit the casino. She enjoyed traveling. Her family was the most important thing to her.
Ces is survived by her siblings, Richard (Joanne) Soyring, Joseph (Bonnie) Soyring, and Therese Haley; and stepsister Debra Berecz and numerous nieces and nephews that she viewed as her own children.
Ces was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Otto Soyring, Jr.; and brother-in-law, John Haley.
