BOC Passes Motions

HARRISON – The Clare County Board of Commissioners passed the following motions at its March 18 meeting. The Board moved to:

  • Approve the day’s agenda as amended and the Board of Commissioners meeting minutes of Feb. 18, 2026
  • Renew the contract with Mid Michigan Medical Examiner Group, LLC as presented through September 30, 2029.
  • Approve the contract renewal with Lincoln Township for the provision of additional law enforcement protection and services.
  • Approve the annual grant agreement between the Michigan State Police and Clare County in the amount of $6,250.
  • Approve the Sublease of the Veterans Freedom Park between Clare County and The Veterans Freedom Park of Clare County, a Michigan non-profit corporation for $1.00 per year through December 31, 2032.
  • Approve an internal loan for the Dodge Lake project not to exceed $155,000 at 1.5% interest for a term of two years payable through the Dodge Lake Level Special Assessment.
  • Approve Resolution #26-06, Eight Point Lake, Lake Level Resolution Pursuant to MCL 324.30701 for maintenance and improvements expected to exceed $10,000.
  • Approve Statutory Finance Committee meeting minutes of February 17, 2026 in the amount of $163,115.96 and minutes of March 2, 2026 in the amount of $192,321.45
  • Approve the expenditures for the month of February 2026 in the amount of $1,533,767.56 with the General Fund expenditures totaling $1,021,459.27
  • Approve the Michigan Indigent Defense Fund Program Assigned Counsel Invoice Submission Policy as presented.
  • Approve the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant in the amount of $222,060.
  • Approve the Intergovernmental Agreement between Clare County and the Clare County Road Commission that more clearly defines the payment obligation for the Bond Issue
  • Amend a motion to install a plaque with the nation’s motto “In God We Trust” in the courthouse to include its designated location.
  • Approve the amended motion to install the plaque donated by Commissioner George Gilmore of the nation’s motto “In God We Trust” at the center of the BOC’s desk dais in front of the chairman’s position.
