BARBARA “BARB” JANE SCHANK

Barbara “Barb” Jane Schank 85 of Harrison passed away at her home on Monday, September 16, 2019. Barbara was born August 29, 1934 in Imlay City, Michigan the daughter of Lawrence E. Hill and Velma Belle (Dexter) Hill.

                Barbara had resided in Harrison since 2003, moving from Lapeer, Michigan. Barb was a volunteer grandmother at HIllside Elementary School of Harrison for over ten years. She spent countless hours helping many young adults as well as assisting the school employees with various tasks. When Barb wasn’t volunteering at Hillside Elementary, she enjoyed floral gardening, reading, sewing, and baking her delicious homemade bread and cinnamon rolls. For several years, Barb would travel to Florida and spend time with her parents.

                Surviving Ms. Schank is her loving son, Mr. Michael Andrew Lamphier and wife Tammy of Harrison, two grandchildren; Sierra Lamphier of Harrison and Blaine Lamphier also of Harrison, two sisters; Ethel “Bunny” Pearson and husband Joy of Lapeer and Lorraine Kitchenmaster of Simi Valley, California, one brother, Lawrence Hill and wife Kim of Florida, many nieces, nephews and her beloved cat, Fluffy. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Bonnie Muxlow.

                A Memorial Gathering honoring Barb will be held Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison.
