Alexander "Al" Buccilli, age 73, of Houghton Lake, formerly of Harrison, Kingman, AZ, and Madison Heights, MI, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch.
A Funeral Mass of Al will be held at St. Athanasius Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Marcel Portelli presiding. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Athanasius Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, November 4, from 5 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to a local soup kitchen or homeless shelter. Envelopes will be available at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and the church.
Al was born on March 6, 1952, in Detroit, son of Patsy "Butsy" and Maria "Mary" (Laerzio) Buccilli. Al was a fun-loving risk taker, He loved anything fast, cars, airplanes, and motorcycles. Al owned restaurants throughout Michigan and Arizona. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He had a musical gift, learning to play the organ on his own.
Al is survived by his children, Alexander (Sherry) Buccilli, Jr. and Anthony (Collette) Buccilli; grandchildren, Nicolina Buccilli, Isabella Buccilli, Nicolina Buccilli, Azlinn Buccilli, Clara Buccilli, Dante Buccilli, and Dominic Buccilli; great-grandchild, Josephine Buccilli; siblings, Patricia Check, Nancy (Greg Goertzen) Dailey, Susan Buccilli, Louis (Becky) Buccilli, Rosemary (Chris) Hornbrook, and Maria (Darryl Kelke) Buccilli; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Buccilli; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Al was preceded in death by his children, Josephine and Joseph Buccilli; parents; brother, Patsy Buccilli, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Robert Check, Richard Dailey, and Michael Nykanen; nephew, Michael Buccilli.
