WALLACE CHARLES DEWALD

Wallace Charles Dewald age 82 of Harrison passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Medilodge of Clare, Clare, Michigan. Wallace was born August 4, 1939 in Turner, Michigan the son of John and Elizabeth (Dorn) Dewald. Wallace graduated from Arenac Eastern High School, Twining, Michigan in 1957. Mr. Dewald was united in marriage to Ms. Rose Ann Ridenour on April 7, 1962 at St. John Lutheran Church, Au Gres, Michigan. Wallace retired from the Department of Defense after twenty-five years as a Quality Control Inspector. He and Rose also owned and operated Au Gres Lanes Bowling Alley of Au Gres for over twenty-five years.

Wallace resided in Harrison since 1992, moving from Omer, Michigan. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Harrison for many years. Mr. Dewald was an avid sportsman and deer hunter, harvesting his largest buck at the age of 80. Wallace also enjoyed bowling for recreation as well as league bowling, woodworking in his shop and vegetable gardening.

Surviving Mr. Dewald is his wife and best friend of sixty years, Mrs. Rose Ann Dewald of Harrison, four sons: Darrin Dewald and companion Michael Walter of Harrison, Arnold “Tad” Dewald of Harrison, Michael Dewald and wife Carmen of Coloma, Wisconsin and Ryan Dewald and wife Julie of Port Charlotte, Florida, ten grandchildren, one great-grandson, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family. Mr. Dewald was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers.

Celebration of Life services honoring Wallace will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. from St. Luke Lutheran Church, 616 South fourth Street, Harrison with Pastor Fred Cordts officiating. Family and friends are encouraged to gather on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service for memory sharing.
