US-127 resurfacing work in Clare County starts Aug. 5

MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $783,000 to resurface US-127 Business Route (BR) from State Street to north of Colonville Road at Clare in Clare County. Work will include cold milling, asphalt overlay, structure adjustments, and pavement markings. The estimated end date is 
Friday, Aug. 16, 2024.
Traffic will be maintained with lane closures and traffic shifts, with traffic regulators at the northern end of the work zone. This work is weather dependent.

Based on economic modeling, this $783,000 investment is expected to directly and indirectly support nine jobs.

This work will improve the driving surface and extend the service life of the roadway.
