Troopers Make Arrest for Weapon Offenses in Clare

CLARE, MICH. Troopers from the Mount Pleasant State Police Post arrested a subject for weapon offenses during an investigation in the City of Clare, Clare County.

On September 11, 2020 troopers arrested a 61-year-old man from Clare following a well-being check in a parking lot in the City of Clare. Troopers checked on the man when they saw him sleeping and/or passed out in the front passenger seat of a vehicle. A handgun was observed near the driver and front
passenger seats as the troopers approached the vehicle.

Troopers conducted a consent search of the vehicle and located a loaded .22 caliber handgun near the center console of the vehicle. A loaded and unregistered 9mm handgun was also located in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The suspect was intoxicated and did not possess a Concealed Pistol License. The two firearms were seized, along with the magazines, and ammunition. The suspect was lodged at the Clare County Jail.

He will be arraigned in the 80TH District Court.
